Our client, a national distributor of pumps, compressors and related process equipment is seeking a Technical Sales Representative to work from a home based office in Fort McMurray. This person will sell to a variety of different clients in different industries ranging from municipalities to the oil and gas sector. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for selling parts and service but will also be responsible for equipment sales. There is a string book of business that this individual will take over and the primary mandate will be to sell deeper in to existing accounts.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain existing client relationships including direct end-user clients and also engineering consultants
  • Identify and secure new sales opportunities
  • Prepare technical specifications as required
  • Work closely with the Inside Sales department by providing market intelligence and following up on quotes
  • Assist in developing annual sales forecasts for the assigned territory
  • Work closely with manufacturers
  • Promote products at industry trade shows as required
Requirements:
  • 3 years of direct business to business selling experience with knowledge of pumps and/or compressors
  • Technical selling background
  • Superior communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to analyze technical documents
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point
  • Organized and a self starter
  • Familiarity with gas and oil producers in Northern Alberta
The successful candidate will receive a strong base salary (open to negotiation for the right candidate) plus uncapped commission potential, a company vehicle, cell phone, laptop and full benefits.
