Our client, in the industrial construction supply and maintenance business, is seeking a Contracts Manager to join their team.  The Contracts Manager oversees the coordination and execution of all construction contracts.  This individual will provide oversight on managing the contract components and ensuring contracts are complete and elements of the contract are communicated to the project team.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Prepare proposals to respond to RFQs while working with key stakeholders to gather all necessary data, costing, planning and other relevant information to respond to the RFQ in a timely and complete manner.
  • Complete review and oversight on the final submission of the proposal to ensure all requirements are included and responded to completely and accurately.
  • Review contracts terms (scope of work, payment, timing, etc) and ensure terms are correct and acceptable. 
  • Prepare contracts and coordinate sign-off.
  • Once contract is complete ensuring the successful transfer of the contract into project phase. Work with internal project team to ensure the project team understands the scope of the project. 
  • Manage contracts for sub-contractors and ensuring completion of contract and obtaining all required documents for the contract are received i.e. WCB, insurance, etc.
  • Ensure contract is audited and items within the contract are complete and are on track and schedule.
  • Work with internal team and ensure change orders are complete and all items for the project are secured.
  • Track the contract from beginning to end to ensure all elements are successfully complete.  Report back on the completion of the project. 
  • Provide supervision and mentorship to two administrative staff.

Required Skills:

  • Three years’ prior contract management experience
  • Experience reading, understanding, and administering a variety of agreement types
  • A post-secondary education in Paralegal studies or Business Administration, or any relevant field
  • Strong computer literacy with significant experience with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with contract management systems and establishing new policies and procedures
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously and still meet high quality and timeliness standards under pressure
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong professionalism and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and be flexible, reliable and responsive
  • Strong attention to detail
