Our client in the interior/industrial design industry is look for a VP Operations and Supply Chain to add to their team. 

This individual will be part of the executive team and report directly to the President.  This individual is responsible for all activities within warehousing, distribution and operations and supply chain management.  This individual is also responsible for developing new business opportunities and takes a lead developing business plans.  This position leads the development of policies, lean distribution practices, and key projects focused on improved productivity and ultimately earnings. This role has full P&L responsibility and oversees distribution centres in Canada, USA and China.

 Responsibilities:

 ·       Create and implement plans for organizational growth, productivity and profitability.

 ·       Develop and implement strategic plans and develops operational policies and procedures.

 ·       Provides oversight and direction to staff through mentorship, performance management and professional development.

 ·       Manages and mitigates supply chain risks and opportunities.

 ·       Develops and reviews budgets for the department.

 ·       Manages contracts with service providers and ensures delivery of all inbound/outbound inventory is inline with service levels.

 ·       Manages the supply chain and implements processes to ensure cost efficiency.

 ·       Within the distribution centres, oversees inventory processing, establishes processes for procurement and asset management.

 ·       Travel to distribution centres for continuous improvement and employee engagement purposes.

 ·       Works as a member of the executive team and brings together cross-functional teams.

 ·       Quarterly travel required in the Canada, USA and China.

 Qualifications:

 ·       Degree in Business Administration, Operations or Supply Chain Management

 ·       Effective change management leader and successful experience as a change agent

 ·       Strong understanding of distribution, warehousing, inventory management and logistics.

 ·       10 years operational or management experience within wholesale distribution.

 ·       Strong analytical, reporting, inventory analysis and administrative skills. 

 ·       Understanding of operations in China

 ·       Experience within the interior/industrial design industry is considered an asset. 

 ·       Well developed project management skills and demonstrated success in leading projects.

 ·       Strong communication and negotiating skills.

 ·       A leader that is responsive and supportive.
