Our client, an industry leader in the mining industry, is looking for a Human Resources Manager to join their team at their Edson location.  This individual will possess strong management skills and supervisory experience and have a strong understanding of human resource functions. They will possess the ability to lead initiatives and strategies to support current/future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a plan to streamline HR functions across the company to improve communication
  • Support the management by developing and executing strategies for performance evaluation, staffing, training and development etc.
  • Prepares quarterly reports on HR trends, new HR project suggestion’s, and program goals and progress
  • Respond to employee relation issues
  • Conduct onboarding, offboarding, and disciplinary action
  • Assist with developing strategic direction and leadership on the development of HR policies, projects and initiatives
  • Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to set goals and determine next steps.
  • Identify new approaches, policies, and procedures to achieve efficiency
  • Provides oversight of contracts and contracted services

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field of study
  • Minimum of 6 years of related work experience
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the requires skills, knowledge and abilities
  • Experience working within a union is an asset
